Battle for Granoshe
A downloadable game
In a world where the Granchson Logging Conglomerate is trying to illegally log the last rainforest of Goranty, the Granoshe Rainforest, there is only one way to save it. You have to purchase the land before the Logging Conglomerate can get their hands on it.
In this game, there are two sides: the Granchson Logging Conglomerate (the industrialists) and the Environmentalist Party (the environmentalists). In this turn-based strategy game, they both seek to control the majority of the hex tile board to either log it or protect it from being logged. The game ends when all unoccupied hexagons are purchased. We hope that you play this game to attempt to save the Granoshe Rainforest from the logging company.

Made for the 2021 Games4SocialImpact "Ruin" game jam. Battle for Granoshe fits the Games4SocialImpact game jam theme of “ruin” because the game is themed around a conglomerate ruining the environment as environmentalists attempt to stop it. The storyline follows the lead up/ possible lead up to permanent ruin of Goranty’s last major area of wild nature. We also include natural facts about real-world rainforests and deforestation to further explain the effects of ruining the environment.
